Are you ready for implementation of Bill 139?

Changes to the Employment Standards Act, through Bill 139, will come into effect on November 6th of this year.  These changes will prove to be challenging to many staffing firms as they struggle to meet the demands of the new legislation.

Members of The Staffing Edge can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that we have been working diligently to ensure that Stafftrak, our proprietary software, will be able to support all of the changes brought on by the Bill.

Staffing firms, as of November, will be required to give notice to any assignment employees whose work term is coming to an end.  If notice is not given then termination pay must be paid out.  This will be one of the greatest challenges of the Bill.  Based on our current technology, input from members and input from other government and non-government sources we are designing an assignment management tool that will ensure this aspect of Bill 139 is followed.

Another new requirement of the Bill is to ensure that a temporary employee receives written assignment information.  We all know that in the world of asap orders, this isn't always easy.  Again, our programmers are working very hard to ensure that Stafftrak will not only meet this requirement but will automate it, ensuring that your recruiters are spending time recruiting not wading in paperwork.
